What You’ll Do

The firm is recruiting an Associate Principal to join the West Africa Advisory team. We are seeking candidates with extensive experience living and working in the region and a thorough understanding of the investment landscape.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

Providing deal and project leadership across transaction advisory engagements, including:

• Identifying, screening, and evaluating investment opportunities
• Conducting sector and geographic landscape assessments
• Identifying, engaging, and building relationships with regional and international investors
• Leading commercial and vendor due diligence assignments
• Developing and reviewing financial models, investment memoranda, teasers, and client recommendations
• Advising on transaction structuring and blended finance solutions
• Supporting post investment value creation initiatives

Supporting business development efforts across the region by:

• Managing relationships with key clients and stakeholders
• Identifying potential clients and strategic partners
• Developing commercial strategies and market expansion initiatives
• Originating transactions and projects across West Africa
• Supporting the growth and visibility of the platform across the region

Contributing to team development by:

• Managing and mentoring investment professionals
• Supporting hiring, capacity building, and performance management
• Leading teams in complex and ambiguous environments
• Coaching junior professionals on technical and commercial development

Supporting brand and market visibility through:

• Representing the platform at conferences, forums, and stakeholder engagements
• Participating in thought leadership initiatives
• Supporting regional partnerships and ecosystem engagement

Who You Are

The ideal candidate will have:

• 10 – 12 years of experience within investment banking, management consulting, private equity, transaction advisory, infrastructure finance, or related sectors
• MBA from a reputable institution preferred
• Strong experience living and working across West Africa
• Strong commercial and business development capabilities
• Advanced financial modelling and transaction execution skills
• Experience engaging with DFIs, investors, governments, and private sector stakeholders
• Strong understanding of frontier and emerging markets dynamics
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluency in English required

Location

Lagos, Nigeria, with regional travel required.
