Job Description:


 

Our client is a rapidly growing global fintech and digital asset solutions provider focused on enabling seamless access to financial markets through proprietary technology, trading infrastructure, and cross-border capabilities.


 


With a strong presence across emerging markets—particularly Africa— our client is building a next-generation platform spanning FX, digital assets (crypto), payments, and liquidity solutions.


 


They are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to support their expansion into Morocco, establishing and scaling local operations while driving adoption of their FX and blockchain-powered financial solutions.


 


Responsibilities:


 


Market Entry & Local Operations


  • Support the establishment and incorporation of the Moroccan entity.
  • Facilitate the setup and management of local banking relationships and financial infrastructure.
  • Ensure alignment with Ethiopian regulatory frameworks and compliance obligations.
  • Coordinate onboarding with FX brokers, crypto exchanges, and payment service providers.


 


Business Development & Revenue Growth


  • Drive the growth of FX trading and digital asset solutions in Morocco.
  • Identify and onboard key clients including:

    • High-net-worth individuals (HNWIs)
    • Institutional players
    • Fintechs and payment providers
    • Corporate and SME clients

  • Position the client as a trusted cross-border payments and digital assets partner.


 


Partnerships & Ecosystem Development


  • Build and manage strategic relationships with:

    • Banks and financial institutions
    • Payment providers and fintech platforms
    • Crypto and blockchain ecosystem participants

  • Act as the local face of the business, representing the client in the Moroccan market.
  • Engage with regulators and relevant authorities when required.


 


Market Intelligence & Strategy


  • Monitor developments in:

    • Moroccan FX and financial regulations
    • Digital asset adoption and blockchain trends
    • Cross-border payments and monetary policy

  • Provide insights to global teams on market risks, opportunities, and competitive dynamics.


 


Internal Collaboration


  • Work closely with global teams across:

    • Trading
    • Operations
    • Compliance
    • Legal and Finance

  • Ensure local activities align with global strategy and governance frameworks.


 


Corporate Governance & Administration


  • Support ongoing entity administration, filings, and regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and documentation standards.


 


Requirements:


 


Experience & Industry Knowledge


  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience within:

    • Banking
    • FX / trading
    • Fintech
    • Crypto / blockchain (highly advantageous)

  • Strong understanding of financial markets and cross-border transactions.


 


Regional & Regulatory Expertise


  • Knowledge of the Moroccan financial services landscape.
  • Familiarity with cross-border payments, FX frameworks, and regulatory environments in North Africa.


 


Business Development Skills


  • Proven track record of:

    • Market entry or expansion
    • Client acquisition and revenue generation
    • Building strategic partnerships

  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.


 


Communication & Languages


  • Fluency in French and English (essential).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to operate across international teams.


 


Personal Attributes


  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate independently.
  • Comfortable in a high-growth, fast-moving fintech environment.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities.


 


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Existing relationships with Moroccan banks, fintechs, or financial institutions.
  • Experience with digital assets, crypto trading, or blockchain ecosystems.
  • Exposure to emerging markets or pan-African financial ecosystems.
  • Track record in launching new financial products or market initiatives.
