About the Client:
The Client is a Johannesburg-based supplier of industrial minerals, chemicals and agricultural and animal feed inputs, and part of an international group, which runs global procurement from Türkiye. They sell from local warehouse stock and on import, and hold Department of Agriculture (Act 36) registrations for key feed and fertiliser products. They serve mining, metallurgy, industrial, agricultural and animal feed customers across South Africa and are growing into SADC. They are building a new, commission-driven sales team with a hands-on, open office culture.
Purpose of Role:
A mid to senior, commission-led self-starter in a sales role owning the local mining and industrial accounts and domestic stock sales. You will grow an established customer base, sell from warehouse stock and on import, and support cross-border business into SADC alongside the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Own and grow local mining and industrial accounts against agreed volume and gross profit targets.
- Sell domestic warehouse stock and import parcels; manage pricing within the price list and approval process.
- Win back lapsed accounts and develop new customers and applications.
- Support SADC and cross-border trades with the General Manager, including trade documentation.
- Develop any key SADC customers the candidate brings with them.
- Follow orders through to delivery and payment; keep the CRM and weekly pipeline reports up to date.
Requirements:
- Proven sales track record in industrial or mining chemicals or minerals in South Africa.
- Own customer relationships in mining, metallurgy or industry.
- Comfortable quoting from stock and executing trades end to end.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
- Degree or diploma (chemistry, engineering, commerce or similar).
- Copperbelt or flotation reagent experience; copper sulphate.
- Export and SADC trade documentation.
